Teacher Training
Inspiring the Next Generation of Teachers
At Barham Church of England Primary School, we are proud to help develop the next generation of skilled, confident and compassionate teachers. We welcome trainee teachers through a range of routes and provide a supportive environment in which they can develop their classroom practice, professional knowledge and confidence.
We currently work with:
PGCE Primary Education trainees from Canterbury Christ Church University
BA (Hons) Primary Education trainees from Canterbury Christ Church University
Postgraduate Teaching Apprentices (PGTAs), completing an employment-based route into teaching through Teach… Beyond, working in partnership with the accredited provider Tes Institute.
Trainees become valued members of our school community. They work alongside experienced teachers and school-based mentors, receiving constructive feedback, professional guidance and opportunities to observe, plan, teach, assess and reflect.
Training at Barham provides experience of an inclusive, creative and ambitious primary curriculum. Trainees can learn from our strong provision in areas including music, sport, outdoor learning and OPAL play, while seeing how our Christian values of being kind, confident and curious shape everyday school life.
We value the enthusiasm, fresh ideas and developing expertise that trainee teachers bring to our school. In return, we are committed to giving every trainee the encouragement, challenge and high-quality support they need as they prepare for a rewarding career in teaching.
